Premiere "Dordt Open Stad"

During the Open Monument Weekend, on Saturday Sept. 11th, the premiere of the short documentary Dordt Open Stad will take place at the Fortress of Vechten, near Bunnik. This film shows a reconstruction of some of the essential military actions that led to the surrender of the city of Dordrecht to the German invaders in May 1940.

Production "For Napoleon" has started

On the 10th of July we started with the first film shoot of a dramatized documentary about the life of Joan Derk Ninaber (1782 – 1812). Joan was a Dutch soldier in Napoleon’s army. In 1812 the 3rd Regiment, in which he served, was sent to Russia. Joan would never see his fatherland again.

The first film shoot took place at the Austerlitz Monument near Utrecht. Expected premiere: Spring 2011.

Summer 2010

Welcome to PHALERA Filmworks’ website. And as you may have noticed, it’s a completely new website.
Over the past year Phalera has focused more and more on producing historical films and documentaries, like six dramatized films that support the medieval exhibition in the Army Museum in Delft.

For this year there are a number of historical projects that Phalera will produce or in which Phalera will be involved.
Next month we will present our short documentary about the Battle of Dordrecht, a Dutch city that was in the frontline during the German Blitzkrieg of 1940.
This summer will see the first shoot of a film about Joan Derk Ninaber,
a Dutch soldier who fought in Napoleon’s army during the catastrophic campaign in Russia in 1812.
And for Scala Productiehuis we will participate in a series of short documentaries about the Roman army in the Netherlands, called
“Mission along the Limes” .

More information about these projects can be found on the “Productions” page.
And please feel free to contact us for any inquiries, suggestions or support.
